Cellar 1914

Nestled in the picturesque landscapes of Northern Michigan, Cellar 1914 stands as a hidden gem for wine enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. This charming winery, named after the year it was established, offers an inviting atmosphere that perfectly complements its rich history and award-winning wines.

As you arrive, you’re greeted by scenic views of the surrounding cherry trees and vineyards, where the grapes thrive in the unique microclimate of the region. Situated on over 300 acres of land, Shooks Farm and Cellar 1914 provide great views, quality products, and a friendly environment.

The rustic yet modern tasting room provides an intimate setting where guests can sample a variety of wines, each crafted with a blend of traditional methods and innovative techniques.

Cellar 1914 is a family-owned business that truly makes you feel at home. Now, we might be a little biased because they’re family for us, but what truly sets Cellar 1914 apart is not just the quality of its wine, but the dedication to sustainability and community.

Visitors can enjoy the beautiful outdoor spaces, including a lovely patio area perfect for enjoying a glass of wine with a phenomenal view. There are plenty of yard games, and in the fall, they even have a corn maze for the whole family to enjoy! The winery also hosts seasonal events, live music, and food trucks, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the visit. Whether you are looking for a relaxing day out, a romantic getaway, or simply want to explore some of the finest wines in Northern Michigan, Cellar 1914 offers an experience that’s both enriching and memorable.

With its stunning location, warm hospitality, and exceptional wines, it’s a must-visit destination for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the heart of Michigan’s wine country.

If you’re planning to come in the winter, be sure to grab your snowshoes. There’s a 1.5 mile trail from Cellar 1914 to King Orchards that is absolutely worth checking out! We had a blast enjoying a glass of wine with friends, and then heading to King Orchards for some donuts and cider. It provided a great workout, room for great conversation, and delicious treats.

There’s no shortage of things to do in Northern MI, and we’re so excited to feature Cellar 1914 as one of our favorite places to enjoy here in our backyard.

Be sure to check them out on Instagram here, and look over their website for up-to-date events and offerings.
